Back in 2016, Jackie Sterling was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had just celebrated her 50th birthday and was enjoying life. One day, while hugging a friend, Jackie felt a shocking pain shooting through her left breast, which subsequently lead to a trip to her local GP. Jackie’s doctor recommended she took liberty of her free breast check, as she was now legible
She did so and 3 tumours were found.
Right away, her treatment began. A mastectomy of her left breast and 6 rounds of chemo to ring in the new year in. After the second session, Jackie was slowly witnessing clumps swim down the shower drain or sweep off with the stroke of a brush. She decided to bite the bullet and stop the intense anxiety of losing her hair
Jackie Reid, a talented seamstress was approached and offered her services and sewn inter changeable head bands to go with outfits in question. With Jackie Reid's experience in dress making and design, the product grew more and more with beautiful patterns, practical structure and a unique look.

When an individual is diagnosed, it can be hard to think of what to say and many turn to flowers or confectionery to show their support or sympathy. Bare Necessities wants to bridge this gap and give people the simple gift of feeling good.
